Market research is a solid premise for future success.

1. Google Trends

Google is one of the leading search engines today. The data it collects is extremely huge. Whenever you need statistics, this is an ideal site.

Google Trends shows you current search trends as well as earlier times. That means you will know which keywords are most interested in. If you need more detailed information, you can filter keywords by time, location, topic, etc. Also, you can compare the popularity of the keywords.

For example, you can check the popularity of the keywords Covid and Work From Home as follows:

2. SmilarWeb

Website: https://similarweb.com/

Cost: Freemium

This is one of my favorite websites to check your opponent’s traffic.

The data that SimilarWeb provides is quite detailed, including popular traffic sources, location, time, etc.

Based on the competitor’s data provided by SimilarWeb, you will know which traffic source is most effective for them. And from there you will leverage to grow your traffic channels.

All you need to do is enter the URL of the competitor’s website into the search box and enter.

3. Nerdy Data

Website: https://www.nerdydata.com/

This is also a search engine like Google. But the special feature is that instead of searching for common information, it allows you to search the website source code.

For example, when I look at WikiHow’s source code, I find https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/wikihow\/

I search for that code in Nerdy Data and find it to be used for other websites as well:

4. Alexa

Like SimilarWeb, Alexa allows you to check competitors’ website information.

I prefer Alexa because its presentation is clear. Especially for the keywords, I can take advantage of this section to bring many benefits.
